It’s encouraging to read that we can change deeply ingrained and inherited habits.
But how?
There’s so much choice out there.
When searching on the www, there are so many hits…
This train of thought recalled the image of a road network.
The neurological pathways for processing memories of past experiences are like highways.
All the signs on the map point to them.
There are many other ways, paved roads and sand paths, and we can even create new ones.
It really takes a lot of decisiveness and presence to stay within the freedom of choice,
to know how to respond without losing our spontaneity…
to be able to choose the route we feel is best to realize our intention.
Sometimes this may be the highway, but much more often it becomes clear we need to create new ones.
We don’t need to climb a mountain, nor do we need to dig through swampy land.
It only needs repeated practice.
Because a path is created by walking.
As simple as that.

Walking with a living Master and sangha friends
opens gateways to our own resources.
When we experience that our imagination has the power to create new trails,
that a simple muscle test tells us how embodied intelligence answers our questions…
a feeling of togetherness will grow, of travelling with our best friend.
