Charaiveti – Charaiveti – Roadblock 1

 Model of the World

As long as we identify ourselves with the body we live in, we cannot experience reality as it is in this world.
Our bodies are not equipped to process the vast amounts of information around us.
We are not able to navigate and communicate like dolphins or birds, nor do we have the brains of an elephant, to give but some examples.
Every species has its own way of experiencing life.
As humans, we have our so-called Model of the World, which refers to the complex processes that enable us to perceive, understand, interpret, and respond to reality.
And like our fingerprints, each of us has its own Model or Map of the World.

The processes we talked about are happening at an unconscious level, directed by the central nervous system, which, in essence, has but one task: to ensure the body’s survival.
Unless we become aware of this facticity, the survival programs of this body-mind system will direct our lives and limit our growth toward our full human potential.
We then keep repeating the patterns conditioned by our human DNA, just as animals do.

Identification with our bodies, therefore, is the main hindrance to developing the insight that ‘The Map is Not the Territory.’
As soon as this is understood and accepted as true, we can begin an adventure that may lead us on the path of transcendence, beyond our biological destination.

There are many, many ways in which the identification appears, related to what we experience in and with the body, often worded and or expressed like: I am … this is my… I have…
Identification can also surface as statements and feedback directed at others, exposing something from your Model of the World and not so much telling about or to the other.
